Time for a new post.

So for my own records it is now December 11th and my flight leaves on January 7th. That means that in total I have approximately five weeks left till I am in route to the beautiful UK. Currently finals are beating me over the head...well not really, considering tonight I spent a couple of hours playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl with friends and most of today was taken up by errands and meeting other friends for coffee, oh and that one exam this morning. I have gotten housing for the University of York and will be posting my address somewhere...not sure where...at some point. Thus if you want to mail me things, or if you want things mailed to you...we will figure out a way to do that. Okay well I am going to go work on my portfolio now so signing off.

Time flies...

When you least expect it. For instance, I thought that I would have bundles of time to actually get ahead in Wuthering Heights (my new novel for 435) and actually read Hamlet, but alas it is looking like I will again be referring to sparknotes and Kenneth Branagh for Hamlet. Oh well. Plus there is my study abroad stuff...I need to get a visa...but I do not know how or which one or anything because the website is terrible at explaining which paperwork I should fill out. Another thing that should have gotten done is work on my writing...yes I have not started another piece of writing in too long and now have no idea when it will happen. Thus I have been stuck without any of my work getting done.

Although my social life has accelled recently with rehearsals and just events in general. This is a good thing and a bad thing. I like it.

Its that time of year again...

When everyone starts to disappear into libraries, cubicals, dorm rooms, random corridors, quite areas, etc. MIDTERMS HAVE ARRIVED!!! This is when people try to remember what they were going over at the beginning of the year and (in my case) start sparknoting those books that were never finished. Bags begin to form under my eyes and my nose becomes more red (not just because of that lovely sunburn) but because my immune system seems to be shutting down slowly due to the late nights. Well I guess back to the books. Oliver Twist and Vanity Fair call to me, asking me to figure out the plots now, so that I can go to bed. So more later...maybe when I get a break.

On a positive note...should be signing a lease for an apartment very soon!!!

I said Birr...Its cold out there. And I forgot all of my "winter" clothing. So. I have only two long sleeved shirts, two sweatshirts, and one pair of fall shoes. This sucks...if you see me shivering in a corner somewhere with about a dozen t-shirts on, please take pity on me and buy me a mocha or latte...or Apple Cider.

On the bright side it is now FALL!!! Finally and so I do enjoy the brisk air and the clean fresh feeling of not having to worry about those aphids.

So for now I bid you adieu.

Stress...

So I have been stressing out way too much lately. Whether it is because I am currently in two different plays, joining a service fraternity, APO, or being overloaded by classwork, stress has now become a crucial part of my daily life. But of course being my crazy self I decided that I have to add more to that. So now I also have Study Abroad stuff to start filling in, and possibly figure out the rest of my life by say next week. Mainly this "figure out my life" thing is due to having attended a meeting for the Beinecke Scholarship which is a Graduate School scholarship.

Now I don't know why I am still stressing out over this because to even qualify for the scholarship you have to be a US Citizen (check), an undergraduate junior (check), and you have to have recieved financial aid from the University as "need base" (wait....) and that is where I just got eliminated from the process.

BUT of course I stayed for the rest of the meeting...I mean a scholarship for 30,000 dollars given to you over a course of 5 years that you can use, basically, for whatever you need, heck that sounds really nice. Too bad that the committee that picks the candidates really hates personal stories, likes it when you know the right people at the right level, prefers if you have a GPA of about a 3.5 minimum...although they really don't say that its a requirement, and really cares more about what others say about you then what you say about you.

All in all I feel as if I came out of this meeting more stressed then I went in. This might have been due to the fact that they wanted you to know what you were going to get a Doctorate in (or a MFA for Creative Writers). They also didnt just want basic info like "oh going to grad school for say publishing" but indepth like go into this program for this particular research and....you get the picture.

Now I feel as if I need to plan my life...now. But Im only just a junior in college. I thought I still had a whole year to start freaking out about the future. Well the scholarship app is due in Feb, and I dont know what I am going to do. So this is my rant about stress.

Between four upper level english/rhet courses, two plays, APO, and other small incidents like trying to find an apartment, study abroad stuff, I feel like I shouldnt be starting to plan my life. Im trying to live in the moment...and Im stumbling the whole time.

Ok now Im going to sleep

Is it time to go yet?

I have decided that I would really like to leave tomorrow for England instead of in January. Also I think I need to get a book about traveling Europe for cheep...because I think I get four weeks off, which sounds like a good time to cross the channel and explore the mainland. Anyway there's something for this week.

Now I have a blog...

Well I really am procrastinating. Instead of writing two different papers (one actually a letter) and reading a story I have now wasted time and created a blog. I guess this is to get me used to writing on it for when I leave next semester. I would love to write almost every day, or at least once a week updating people on my trip abroad. For those of you who already know whats happening pass by this/just leave my page. For those who do not know, I will be studying abroad next semester (hopefully) at the University of York UK from January to July. There will be time in there for some sight seeing along with hopefully a quick tour of Europe. Anyway I just wanted to see how this works so tune in next time for something else!
